Silverwater is a suburb in western Sydney approximately 20 kilometres west of the CBD and 6km east of Parramatta CBD. It sits on the southern bank of the Parramatta River and in the local government area of Auburn.
Silverwater is home to many small to medium businesses who seek warehouse, office or showroom space. Large companies, such as Rebel Sports which have their Head Office in the area, Røde Microphones and Optus, also have a presence in the area. Winning Appliances and Appliances Online both share large warehouse space in Silverwater.
Though the suburb was initially developed as a medium/heavy industrial area, it has been redeveloped into a premier light industrial/commercial haven with some tracts of residential areas.
There are cafes and restaurants scattered throughout Silverwater, and these are generally small in size. Just south of Silverwater is Red Yard, which has numerous commercial and restaurant complexes. This includes the first Costco in New South Wales, Reading Cinemas which is the largest of its type in Australia, Domayne, Harvey Norman, a large McDonalds and Krispy Kreme, as well as numerous clothes/shoes shops.
Silverwater benefits from excellent road access including Silverwater Road, M4 Motorway, Parramatta Road and Victoria Road.
